O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass Event at Mountain Motor Speedway Rained Out; Make Up Date August 29

Isom, KY-July 4, 2008- The O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Super Late Models made their first trip to Mountain Motor Speedway since 2005, but the evening’s activities ended prematurely as Mother Nature moved into the area and dropped a deluge of rain, forcing track and series officials to cancel the remainder of the evening’s race program. 

The event has been rescheduled and will now take place on Friday evening August 29.  The August 29 event will be an entirely new event that will start from scratch, with new entries welcome.  All race fans and race teams that have tickets and pit passes will need to secure those until the make-up date and present those for readmission on August 29.           

The program did get Racing Optics time trials and a pair of qualifying heat race events in before the rains came and forced cancellation of the remainder of the show.  Tim Tungate of Campbellsville, KY had won the Racing Optics top qualifier award and also won Wayne Bowen Racing Supply heat one and Victor Lee of Stanford, KY had won K&N Performance Engineering heat two, but the rains would roll in just as heat three was set to begin.       

The next event for the O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Super Late Models will be on Saturday July 5 at 201 Speedway in Sitka, KY.  It is the series second trip of the season to the ¼ mile high-banked red clay oval and this event will pay the winner $5,000 for their efforts.
