Next for O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series at Brownstown
Speedway June 28

22, 2008- The O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series
presented by Graphic Impressions will continue its 2008 run to the
championship with event number nine of the ’08 season on Saturday June
28 at the Tim Keithley promoted Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown,
IN. The event will be the 10th Annual Lee Fleetwood Memorial
presented by Bob Poynter Ford, as the O’Reilly A-Main event will be 40
laps for $3,000 to win for America’s most competitive touring regional
Super Late Model series.
Brownstown Speedway in
Brownstown, IN will host the O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar
Series Super Late Models on Saturday June 28. The June 28 racing
event will feature a full program of practice, Racing Optics time
trials, Wayne Bowen Racing Supply, K&N Performance Engineering,
Graphic Impressions, and Real Racing Wheels qualifying heats, B-Mains,
and the 40 lap, $3,000 to win 10th Annual Lee Fleetwood Memorial
presented by Bob Poynter Ford O’Reilly A-Main.
Of note for this event,
the rule for Brownstown Speedway event on June 28 will be as follows:
Hoosier Tires- LM40, 1600, or shouldered-plated D55; American Racer-
MD56; Goodyear- G50. These are the only tire compounds of choice that
will be allowed at this event and must be used on the front and rear
of the race cars.
Activities for the June 28
Brownstown Speedway event will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m.,
with the general admission area open at 3:00 p.m. as well. The
drivers meeting will take place at 5:15 p.m., practice will begin at
5:30 p.m., followed by Racing Optics time trials at 6:00 p.m., with
racing set for the green flag at or before 7:00 p.m. Ticket prices
for this event will $15 in the general admission area and $30 in the
pit area. Local divisions also in action at this event will be UMP
Super Stocks, Bombers, and Hornets.
The O’Reilly Battle of the
Bluegrass DirtCar Series Super Late Model division has made six
previous appearances at Brownstown Speedway. Previous O’Reilly
Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Super Late Model event winners
at Brownstown Speedway are Steve Barnett of Franklin, IN (2005 Lee
Fleetwood Memorial)), Greg Johnson of Edinburgh, IN (2006), Jack
Sullivan of Greenbriar, AK (2006 Lee Fleetwood Memorial)), Don O’Neal
of Martinsville, IN (2007), Rohn Moon of Greenwood, IN (2007 Lee
Fleetwood Memorial), and Victor Lee (2008 Hoosier Dirt Classic).
The O’Reilly A-Main purse
for the Saturday June 28 event at Brownstown Speedway is as follows:
1st- $3,000, 2nd- $1,500, 3rd- $1,000, 4th- $800, 5th- $750, 6th-
$700, 7th- $650, 8th- $600, 9th- $550, 10th- $500, 11th- $450, 12th-
$400, 13th- $350, 14th- $350, 15th- $325, 16th- $325, 17th through
22nd- $300; 23rd through 24th- $250.

County Fairgrounds, Brownstown Speedway is a ¼ mile semi-banked clay
oval promoted by Tim Keithley. Brownstown Speedway is located 1.0

The Super Late Model
division of the O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series last
competed on June 14 at Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY and Eric
Wells of Hazard, KY scored his first ever series win in the June Jam
event. Victor Lee of Stanford, KY is the current series points
leader. The remainder of the top five in series points leading in to
the June 28 Lee Fleetwood Memorial presented by Bob Poynter Ford event
at Brownstown Speedway are Tyrel Todd of Science Hill, KY, David Webb
of Nicholasville, KY, Tim Tungate of Campbellsville, KY, and Zach
Carney of Mooresville, IN. Completing the top ten in series points
coming to Bluegrass Speedway are Eric Wells, Mike Jewell, Larry Gray,
Arnie Fields, and Chris Combs.
