LEXINGTON, KY (06/27/2007) – The O’Reilly NARA
Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series presented by Arizona
Sport Shirts heads east Saturday, June 30th to the newly
renovated 201 Speedway. This will be the first of two trips to
the Sitka, KY high-banks during the 2007 season for the nation’s
most competitive regional racing Series. The most recent trip in
2006 saw St. Alban’s, WV’s Rod Evans come from the tail of the
field to take the checker flag.
Since the first trip in 2004 to one of the most
thrilling stops of the tour each year, the O’Reilly NARA Battle
of the Bluegrass Series has seen winners of high caliber
including Eddie Carrier Jr., Paul Harris, Whitney McQueary,
Aaron Hatton, Rod Evans, Tyrel Todd, and Mike Jewell. Going into
the June 30th event, 13 different winners in 14 events have
graced victory lane this far in 2007.
Heading into the event, the O’Reilly NARA Battle
of the Bluegrass points battle heats up as Stanford, KY’s Victor
Lee jumps into the lead over the Mike Marlar by a mere 70
points. Tyrel Todd moves into the third spot in points followed
by Cruise with the Champions Rookie points leader Jason Keltner.
Jerry Rice rounds out the top five in points just barely behind
Keltner. Completing the top ten in points are Tim Tungate, David
Webb, defending Series champ Mike Jewell, Michael Chilton and
Bobby Wolter, Jr.
This weekend plays out with Racing Optics Time
Trials, Arizona Sport Shirts Heats, Design 500 B-Mains, and the
O'Reilly Auto Parts A-Main paying $3000 to win. The purse is as

201 Speedway is 3/8-mile high-banked clay oval
promoted by racer Chuckie May. The track is nestled in a hill
located just 5.5 miles north of US 23 on SR 201, just outside
