Bluegrass Speedway Has Battle of the Bluegrass Modified Series Bluegrass Rumble July 26  

Louisville, Kentucky-July 20, 2008- The Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Open Wheel Modified division presented by Graphic Impressions returns to action on Saturday July 26 at Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY for the 8th Annual Bluegrass Rumble, paying $1,500 to win for the Modified division.                     

 

The July 26 Battle of the Bluegrass Modified Series event at Bluegrass Speedway will see a full program of practice, time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 25 lap, $1,500 to win 8th Annual Bluegrass Rumble A-main for the Battle of the Bluegrass Modified division.   


Activities for the July 26 Bluegrass Speedway event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., with the general admission area opening at 5:00 p.m.  The drivers meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m., with practice laps set to begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by time trials at 7:00 p.m., with racing to follow at or before 8:00  p.m.  Ticket prices for this event will $15 in the general admission area and $30 in the pit area.  Local divisions in action at this event will be Super Late Models and Sportsman. 

 

The Saturday July 26 event at Bluegrass Speedway will mark the Battle of the Bluegrass Modified Series ninth ever visit to Bluegrass Speedway, with previous event winners including Kelly Warren of Columbia, KY (2004), Ted Nobbe of Batesville, IN (2005), Josh Lucas of Bardstown, KY (2005), Don Adams of London, KY (2006), Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN (2006, 2007, May 2008), and Miguel Coffey of McKee, KY (2007).   

 

The A-Main purse and payout for the Friday July 18 Richmond Raceway event is as follows:  1st- $1,500, 2nd- $700, 3rd- $500, 4th- $400, 5th- $350, 6th- $300, 7th- $275, 8th- $250, 9th- $225, 10th- $200, 11th- $180, 12th- $160, 13th- $150 14th- $140, 15th- $130, 16th through 22nd- $125.

The Battle of the Bluegrass Modified Series last raced on July 18 at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, KY with series points leader Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN picking up his sixth series win of the season.  Don Adams of London, KY is currently second in series points, while Skylar Marlar of Winfield, TN is third in points, with Kelly Warren of Columbia, KY and Shawn Tolson of Walton, KY completing the top five in series points heading into this weekend’s action.  The remainder of the top ten in points going into the weekend are Mick Sansom, Robbie Gullion, Brandon Green, Wayne James, and Jeff Johnson.
