Battle of the
Bluegrass Modifieds Visit Moler Raceway Park and 201 Speedway June 13
and June 14

8, 2008- The Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Open Wheel
Modified division presented by Graphic Impressions returns to action
with its second doubleheader weekend of the 2008 season with a stop at
Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, OH on Friday June 13, followed by
a visit to 201 Speedway in Sitka, KY on Saturday June 14
The June 13 Battle of the
Bluegrass Modified Series event at Moler Raceway Park will see a full
program of practice, time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the
30 lap, $1,500 to win A-main for the Battle of the Bluegrass Modified
division. When the tour pulls to 201 Speedway the next evening on
June 14, there will also be a full program of practice, time trials,
qualifying heats, B-Mains, and a 30 lap, $1,500 to win A-Main event.
Activities for the June 13
Moler Raceway Park event will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m., with
the general admission area opening at 4:30 p.m. Practice laps will
begin at 7:00 p.m., followed by time trials at 7:45 p.m., with racing
to follow. Ticket prices for this event will $15 in the general
admission area and $30 in the pit area. Local divisions in action at
this event will be the Sunesis Construction Super Late Models, Phantom
Fireworks Pure Stocks, and Chevettes.
Activities for the June 14
event at 201 Speedway will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m., with
general admission area open at 4:00 p.m. Practice will begin at 7:15
p.m., followed immediately by time trials and racing action. Local
divisions in action at this event will be Super Late Models, Bombers,
and Four Cylinders.
The Friday June 13 event
at Moler Raceway Park will mark the Battle of the Bluegrass Modified
Series first ever visit to the second year facility and will also be
the series first ever event contested in the Buckeye State of Ohio.
The O’Reilly Battle of the
Bluegrass DirtCar Series Open Wheel Modified division has made seven
previous appearances at 201 Speedway. Those event winners include
Jimmy Payne of Glasgow, KY (2004), Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN (twice
in 2005, 2007), Don Adams of London, KY (2006, 2007), and Tommy Bailey
of Corbin, KY (2006)
The A-Main purse and
payout for the Friday June 13 Moler Raceway Park and Saturday June 14
201 Speedway event is as follows: 1st- $1,500, 2nd- $700, 3rd- $500,
4th- $400, 5th- $350, 6th- $300, 7th- $275, 8th- $250, 9th- $225,
10th- $200, 11th- $180, 12th- $160, 13th- $150 14th- $140, 15th- $130,
16th through 22nd- $125.
Moler Raceway Park is a
¼ mile semi-banked clay oval located just outside of Williamsburg,
OH
and is promoted by
Kim and Kevin Moler. The track is located just outside of
Williamburg, OH
off of Highway 32 at
2059 Harker Waits Road. For information about Moler Raceway Park,

Kentucky’s best kept secret, 201 Speedway is a ¼ mile high-banked red
clay oval promoted by former Super Late Model racer Chuckie May. 201
Speedway is located 5.4 miles North of US 23 on State Road 201, just
North of the Sitka community, just outside of Paintsville, KY.
The Battle of the
Bluegrass Modified Series last raced on June 7 at Tazewell Speedway in
Tazewell, TN with series points leader Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN
picking up his second Tazewell win of the season. Don Adams of
London, KY is currently second in series points, while Kelly Warren of
Columbia, KY is third in points, with Skylar Marlar of Winfield, TN
and Mick Sansom of Salt Rock, WV completing the top five in series
points heading into this weekend’s action. The remainder of the top
ten in points going into the weekend doubleheader are Shawn Tolson,
Brandon Green, Robbie Gullion, Wayne James, and Jeff Johnson.
The Battle of the
Bluegrass DirtCar Series sanctions regional Open Wheel Modified events
