Showdown Up Next for “BoB Mod Squad” at Ponderosa Speedway August 22
Louisville,
Kentucky-August 17, 2008- The Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series
Open Wheel Modified division presented by Graphic Impressions returns
to action on Friday August 22 at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City,
KY, paying $1,500 to win for the Modified division in the 4th Annual
Railroad Days Showdown event. This will be the second trip of the
season for the Battle of the Bluegrass Modified Series to the track
commonly referred to as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring”.
The August 22 Battle of
the Bluegrass Modified Series event at Ponderosa Speedway will see a
full program of practice, time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and
the $1,500 to win 4th Annual Railroad Days Showdown A-Main event for
the Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Modified division.
Activities for the August
22 event at Ponderosa Speedway will see the pit area open at 4:00
p.m., with general admission area open at 5:00 p.m. The Modified
drivers meeting will be at 6:45 p.m., with practice set to begin at
7:15 p.m., followed immediately by time trials at 7:45 p.m., with
racing action set to begin at 8:30 p.m. Local divisions in action at
this event will be Super Late Models, Pro Late Models, and Sportsman.
The Battle of the
Bluegrass Modified division has made eight previous appearances at
Ponderosa Speedway, with winners in those events including Brent
Londeree of Columbus, IN in the very first series event back in 2004,
four wins for Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN (twice in 2005, 2006, 2007),
Don Adams (2006, May 2008), and Shon Flanery of Mount Carmel, TN
(2007).
The A-Main purse and
payout for the Friday August 22 event at Ponderosa Speedway is as
follows: 1st- $1,500, 2nd- $700, 3rd- $500, 4th- $400, 5th- $350,
6th- $300, 7th- $275, 8th- $250, 9th- $225, 10th- $200, 11th- $180,
12th- $160, 13th- $150 14th- $140, 15th- $130, 16th through 22nd-
$125.
Ponderosa Speedway is a
3/8 mile clay oval promoted by Larry, Chad, and Sarah
Yantz. Ponderosa
Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane, just south of Danville, KY
off of KY Hwy.

The Battle of the
Bluegrass Modified Series last raced on August 9 at 201 Speedway in
Sitka, KY and Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN would score his seventh
series win of the season and currently leads the series point
standings. Don Adams of London, KY is currently second in series
points, while Kelly Warren of Columbia, KY is third in points. Shawn
Tolson of Walton, KY is fourth in points, while Robbie Gullion of
Charlestown, IN completes the top five in series points heading into
this weekend’s action. The remainder of the top ten in points going
into the weekend at Ponderosa Speedway are Mick Sansom, Skylar Marlar,
Brandon Green, Wayne James, and Josh Lucas.
