Annual Railroad Days Showdown at Ponderosa Speedway
Louisville,
Kentucky-August 24, 2008- The Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series
Open Wheel Modified division presented by Graphic Impressions again
has another Friday night of racing action scheduled for Friday August
29 at Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, OH for the $1,500 to win
Buddy Cook Memorial event that will mark the tour’s first-ever race in
the state of Ohio. This is the make-up date from the originally
scheduled event that was weathered out back on June 13.
The August 29 Battle of
the Bluegrass Modified Series event at Moler Raceway Park will see a
full program of practice, time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and
the $1,500 to win Buddy Cook Memorial A-Main event for the Battle of
the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Modified division.
Activities for the August
29 Moler Raceway Park event will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m.,
with the general admission area opening at 4:30 p.m. Practice laps
will begin at 7:00 p.m., followed by time trials at 7:45 p.m., with
racing to follow. Ticket prices for this event will $15 in the
general admission area and $30 in the pit area. Local divisions in
action at this event will be the Sunesis Construction Super Late
Models, Phantom Fireworks Pure Stocks, and Chevettes.
This will be the first
ever appearance for the Battle of the Bluegrass Modified Series at
Moler Raceway Park and will also mark the first-ever visit by the “BoB
Mod Squad” to a venue in the Buckeye State of Ohio.
The A-Main purse and
payout for the Friday August 29 event at Moler Raceway Park is as
follows: 1st- $1,500, 2nd- $700, 3rd- $500, 4th- $400, 5th- $350,
6th- $300, 7th- $275, 8th- $250, 9th- $225, 10th- $200, 11th- $180,
12th- $160, 13th- $150 14th- $140, 15th- $130, 16th through 22nd-
$125.
Moler Raceway Park is a ¼
mile semi-banked clay oval located just outside of Williamsburg, OH
and is promoted by Kim and Kevin Moler. The track is located just
outside of Williamburg, OH off of Highway 32 at 2059 Harker Waits

The Battle of the
Bluegrass Modified Series last raced on August 22 at Ponderosa
Speedway in Junction City, KY and Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN would
score his eighth series win of the season and currently leads the
series point standings. Don Adams of London, KY is currently second
in series points, while Kelly Warren of Columbia, KY is third in
points. Shawn Tolson of Walton, KY is fourth in points, while Robbie
Gullion of Charlestown, IN completes the top five in series points
heading into this weekend’s action. The remainder of the top ten in
points going into the weekend at Ponderosa Speedway are Mick Sansom,
Skylar Marlar, Brandon Green, Josh Lucas, and Wayne James.
The Battle of the
Bluegrass DirtCar Series sanctions regional Open Wheel Modified events
