Louisville, Kentucky-May 4,
2008- The Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Open Wheel
Modified division presented by Graphic Impressions has been
idle since April 12, but will return to action this weekend
with the tour’s second event of the 2008 season at Clinton
County Speedway in Alpha, KY, just outside of Albany, KY on
Saturday May 10.
The May 10 Battle of the Bluegrass Modified Series event at
Clinton County Speedway will see a full program of practice,
time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the $1,500 to
win A-main for the Battle of the Bluegrass Modified
division. This event will mark the first visit by the Battle
of the Bluegrass Modified Series to Clinton County Speedway
since 2004.
Activities for the May 10 Clinton County Speedway event will
see general admission and pit areas open at 3:00 p.m. The
drivers meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m., practice will
begin at 5:45 p.m., with time trials immediately following
practice, while racing take the green flag at the conclusion
of time trials. All times listed are CDT. Ticket prices for
this event will $15 in the general admission area and $30 in
the pit area. Local divisions also in action at this event
will be Super Late Models, Super Dirt Stocks/Road Hogs, and
Chevettes/Frontrunners.
The Battle of the Bluegrass Modified division has made two
previous appearances at Clinton County, with both of those
events taking place back in 2004 and Ricky Arms of Moss, TN
was the winner of both events.
The A-Main purse and payout for the Saturday May 10 event at
Clinton County Speedway is as follows: 1st- $1,500, 2nd-
$700, 3rd- $500, 4th- $400, 5th- $350, 6th- $300, 7th- $275,
8th- $250, 9th- $225, 10th- $200, 11th- $180, 12th- $160,
13th- $150, 14th- $140, 15th- $130, 16th through 22nd- $125.
Clinton County Speedway is a 3/10 mile semi-banked red clay
oval promoted by James Brown.
Clinton County Speedway is located one mile from the Clinton
County/Wayne County border
on Pleasant Ridge Road. Patrons and visitors will stay on
Pleasant Ridge Road until the racetrack

The Battle of the Bluegrass Modified Series last raced on
April 12 at Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN and Joey
Kramer of Hanover, IN won that event over Don Adams, Kurt
Owens, Kelly Warren, and Kevin Copher. That is also the way
the top five in points stand heading into the May 10 Clinton
County Speedway event.
The Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series sanctions
