LEXINGTON, KY --
Lake Cumberland Speedway track promoter Harold Hardgrove has
announced that he is upping the ante for this Saturday's 2006
season opener for the NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Open Wheel
Modified Series. Hardgrove is adding money to the first five
non-transfer spots in Saturday night's B-Main for the NARA
Battle of the Bluegrass Open Wheel Modified show.
The NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Open Wheel Modified Series
will begin its 2006 season this Saturday, April 22nd at
Burnside, KY's Lake Cumberland Speedway. In the series' only
visit to Lake Cumberland in 2005, Joe David Turner won in
thrilling fashion, narrowly edging out Jimmy Payne. With the
improvements that have been made to the 3/8-mile facility
during the off-season, the event is sure to be an exciting
show with plenty of side-by-side racing action.
A complete program is planned for the BoB "Mod Squad" with
Racing Optic Time Trials, Heats Races, B-Mains, and the Vault
30 A-Main. Gates are slated to open at 2pm with Hot Laps
scheduled for 6pm and Racing at 7pm.
Hanover, IN native Joey Kramer is the defending NARA Battle of
the Bluegrass Open Wheel Modified Series Champion while
Columbia, KY's Kelly Warren won the inaugural series title in
2004.
Lake Cumberland Speedway is a 3/8-mile semi-banked clay oval
located just south of Burnside, KY on the east side of US 27.
