Battle of the Bluegrass Series moves
2009 Banquet to Friday February 19th
LOUISVILLE, KY (January 20,
2010)—Officials with the Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series have
announced a change of date for the 2009 Awards Banquet. The Banquet
will now be held on Friday Night February 19, 2010 instead of the
first announced date of January 30th.
The location of the Awards Banquet will remain the same, the Ramada
Conference Center in Lexington , Kentucky . The Banquet has been
changed to accommodate all those traveling to Florida during in and
around that week. Some of the drivers and promoters of the BoB Series
informed series officials that they could not make the January 30th
date, so therefore the series wants to have a good representation and
have made plans to move the Banquet to its new date of February 19th.
The series does apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
The top-10 in points will be honored for both the Late Model and Open
Wheel Modified racing divisions during this night in the main
Ballroom. Other special awards will be handed out as well as a review
of the 2009 season and a look at the upcoming schedule, rules and
other various information for the 2010 racing season. The social hour
will be from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. EST with dinner being served at
7:30 p.m. EST and awards ceremonies to follow.
Victor Lee of Stanford , KY will be honored for his third-straight
Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Late Model division
championship. Dustin Linville of Bryantsville , KY will be honored for
his Rookie of the Year title and the rest of the top-10 drivers will
be receiving their awards. In the Open Wheel Modified Series, Bryan
Barber of Buffalo , KY will receive top-honors for his first-ever
Championship with the series. JT Ayers of New Haven, KY will also be
honored for the Rookie of the Year title as well as the rest of the
top-10 drivers in series points receiving their awards.
Teams wanting to purchase rooms for the night can do so by calling the
Ramada Conference Center . A block of rooms have been set aside for
the Battle of the Bluegrass and a special rate of $69.99 per night
plus tax will be given to teams of the Battle of the Bluegrass Series.
